* The secret of growing cucumbers.
Cucumbers need a lot of water and are very sensitive to drought. Cucumbers have a weak root system, so they cannot obtain water at great depths. From early July to mid-August is the best time for watering. Watering too early in June or watering in cold weather can ruin your crop. Do not water with cold water. In normal weather, three waterings of 15 l/m2 will be enough.
When the third leaf appears on the seedlings, they are fed with nitrogen fertilizer (2-3 g per 1 m2 - 3% solution). Fertilizer must be distributed evenly over the entire bed because cucumber roots quickly grow in all directions. Approximately at the beginning and end of July, the remaining dose of fertilizing is applied (20-30 g of complete nitrogen fertilizer per 1 m2).
To prevent the formation of a soil crust, the soil should be loosened frequently (very carefully, since the root system is located in the upper layers of the soil).
